SECRET SANTAS - Giving Back To A Community That Has Given Them So Much!

This past Christmas holiday, the Lake City High School Alumni Association (LCHSAA) gifted upwards of $8,000 in free groceries to the community that has been such a blessing to them over the years!

On six different occasions, LCHSAA Officers and Committee Members randomly and anonymously, arrived at Wal-Mart and KJ's IGA of Lake City, SC, as Secret Santas, for the sole purpose of paying it forward!

Chosen at random at check-out, shoppers were asked if they would allow the organization to take care of their groceries! Many shoppers were initially shocked, then in disbelief they looked around trying to make sense of it all, wondering if it was true or was it a hoax! LCHSAA then repeated to the shopper, “Is it ok if we take care of your groceries, as we have been blessed and would like to bless you?” Upon realizing the request was “REAL,” the reactions were priceless, as shock and disbelief turned into tears of joy, hugs, and heartfelt thanks.

What began as an act of kindness for others, became an even greater blessing for the organization’s officers and committee members as this act of giving did more for LCHSAA than the customers may ever know. It was also a joy to see the stores' management, staff, and cashiers overwhelmed with as much excitement as the association’s representatives were, while witnessing gratitude on every shopper’s face!

A special thank you to both stores for their kindness and support allowing LCHSAA the opportunity to spread good cheer through the community during the holiday.
